Oopbuy QC Guide
How to Read Oopbuy QC Photos Like a Pro
QC photos are your best defense against receiving a bad batch. This guide teaches you what to look for, how to spot common flaws, and when to request additional photos or swap for a different batch.
What QC Photos Show
A standard oopbuy QC set includes 7 photos: front view, back view, left side, right side, top view, sole/bottom view, and logo close-up. Some agents add an extra measurement photo. Each photo serves a specific purpose in evaluating quality.
Understanding QC Ratings
The QC rating system on oopbuy ranges from 1-10. A 9.0+ rating means the item is nearly indistinguishable from retail in photos. 8.0-8.9 means minor flaws visible on close inspection but not noticeable when worn. 7.0-7.9 means moderate flaws that may be spotted by enthusiasts. Below 7.0 means significant flaws that you should carefully consider before purchasing.
Spotting Common Shoe Flaws
<strong>Toe Box:</strong> Should be slim, not bulky. Excess material or incorrect shape is a common batch flaw.
<strong>Swoosh:</strong> Placement should match retail positioning within 2mm. Thickness should be consistent with retail photos.
<strong>Heel Tab:</strong> Height and angle matter. Jordan 4 heel tabs should align vertically.
<strong>Tongue:</strong> Height and tag placement vary by model. Compare to confirmed retail photos.
<strong>Stitching:</strong> Clean, consistent spacing. Loose threads or skipped stitches are red flags.
Spotting Common Clothing Flaws
<strong>Logo Placement:</strong> Measure from collar or hem. Even 1cm deviation is noticeable on branded items.
<strong>Embroidery:</strong> Thread density should match retail. Sparse embroidery is a budget batch sign.
<strong>Material Texture:</strong> Compare sheen and weave to retail photos. Fleece items should show the correct nap direction.
<strong>Tags:</strong> Wash tags and neck tags should have correct fonts and spacing. This is less important if you remove tags before wearing.
When to Request Additional Photos
Request more photos if: the logo close-up is blurry, you need to see a specific flaw angle, you want to check insole print, or you need measurements for fit. Most agents provide up to 3 additional photos free. Beyond that, a small fee may apply.
When to Swap or Return
Swap the item if: the flaw affects a key visual area, the size is clearly wrong, or the color is significantly off. Do not swap for minor flaws like slightly loose stitching on a hidden area or minor glue residue that can be cleaned. Use community channels to ask for second opinions on borderline cases.
FAQ
Can I get a refund if QC looks bad?
Most sellers allow returns within 24 hours of QC delivery if the item has major defects. Minor flaws are not returnable.
Do agents retake photos if requested?
Yes, agents retake photos within 12-24 hours of the request.
How accurate are QC ratings?
Ratings with 5+ submissions are highly accurate. Single ratings should be verified against retail photos personally.
